I had a converter box that was recieving digital broadcasts on 6.1, 6.2, 10.1, 10.2, 13.1, 13.2 with 8.1 and 8.2 being intermittent. On a new digital TV, I am not receiving anything but 10.1 and 8.1 at times. Why does the new TV not provide similar results to the converter box?
I'm sorry you're having trouble with your new TV! It's very puzzling that you would pick up all the channels with a converter but not on a digital TV. Has there been any change in your antenna? Are you using rabbit ears, or an attic-mount or rooftop antenna? If the latter, are you using the old flat black or brown wire with two copper wires and U-terminals? If so, you may want to swap that out for coaxial cable, which does a better job of carrying the signals unimpeded. You will also want to make sure your antenna is pointed in the right direction -- a great website, www.tvfool.com, can help with this. If you're using rabbit ears, try moving them to a windowsill, since building materials can block digital signals to some degree. Try a few different things -- always the cheapest options first -- but you may find a small investment in a pre-amp (antenna booster) might help. Good luck with it.
